“Falcor” is a portly gelding that arrived from Monmouth Park’s Second Call program in September, 2016. He is among the war horses in the barn at 8 years old and having raced an amazing 60 times! This nice sized, chestnut gelding retired with a sesamoid fracture that was reported to be quite small and inconsequential. Unfortunately, radiographs showed a different story and we made a rehab plan for Falcor which only just ended in May!
While his prognosis initially was uncertain, he’s hit all his milestones and has become quite sound! We’re very happy to report that he’s now on full turn-out with a herd of geldings and is doing very well. On May 4th, he was cleared to return to work though we’ve not had a chance yet with our limitations due to the weather.
Falcor maintained a positive attitude throughout his rehab, put on quite a few pounds, and proved very professional and classy when in controlled exercise. We think he’ll make a fantastic low-level addition to a riding program or trail horse to a very lucky adopter.
Falcor is currently available for adoption for $500.
