Jet was adopted in June of 2017 by Jennifer in Chester County who was looking for a nice pleasure and trail horse. She also seems to have found a best friend in Jet and we can’t wait to hear how their relationship grows.
Jet Streak is a very nice, grey gelding who came to ATR through the New Start program at Penn National. He is 5 years old and stands about 16-16.1 hands. By Tapit and out of a Kingmambo mare, this is one of the nicest bred horses we’ve had enter our program, and he comes with the classy temperament to boot.
Unfortunately, Jet Streak fractured his accessory carpal bone after getting loose at the track and taking a fall. We have had Jet Streak in rehab since July and are happy to report that he was cleared in May to return to work! Jet has actually healed pretty well and is sound for light work. A new career that involves flatwork is likely the best choice for him, though our vet said a new home could probably try adding some small, occasional jumping to his program once he’s gotten more fit, and just play it by ear as far as how much he can do.
Jet Streak has been a joy to have in the barn. He’s sweet, playful, enjoys getting attention from our volunteers and staff, and has a very pleasant attitude. He loves to be brushed, fed treats, and has been good to handle even throughout his confinement. He’s also a good eater and has only put on weight since his time at the track.
