“Dixie” is a very sweet 15.1 hand, bay mare that retired in February, 2018 through the New Start for Horses program at Penn National. She is turning 5 this year and raced 13 times. She won her very first race and never saw the winner’s circle again. While she may have been slow at the track, this only means she had the chance to retire sound and ready for a new career.
We’ve not had her evaluated by our vet yet, but will soon and do not expect her to have any limitations. She has been very sweet to handle, seems to have no vices, and would be very well suited for those interested in polo or other disciplines that enjoy a smaller horse while not being limited from any other career in the process.
We expect her adoption fee to start at $1,000.
