Unionville Equine
Unionville Equine has been AtR’s veterinary care provider since 2011. Dr. Mark Donaldson is currently serving on our board of directors and he and Dr. Morgan Adams are our primary veterinarians. Unionville Equine's veterinarians help us organize rehabilitation schedules for our horses, and they are quick to support us in any way they can regarding our horses’ care and medical needs. We cannot recommend them enough!
Bethany P Photography
Bethany has been working to help photograph horses available for adoption at After the Races since August of 2017. She volunteers her amazing talent to showcase our Thoroughbreds and help potential adopters see the value and potential that we know they all possess. We cannot recommend her enough for your photography needs, whether it’s sales photos or family or pet portraits.
Thoroughbred Charities of America
Thoroughbred Charities of America has been an active supporter of ATR for years and their every grant makes an impact on our ability to fulfill our mission.
New Start
New Start is the Thoroughbred retirement program based out of Penn National near Hershey, Pennsylvania. After the Races has been partnered with New Start since early 2014 and they are a wonderful, younger retirement program that could use your support.
Beyond The Wire
Beyond The Wire is the retirement program for Thoroughbred racehorses based in the state of Maryland. BTW benefits Thoroughbreds coming from any racetrack in Maryland and is a terrific program that strives to evaluate every horse prior to sending them on their way to TAA acreditted organizations like After the Races. We have been working together to rehome Thoroughbreds in transition since 2017.
Aftercare Charles Town
ACT was formed in 2013 to help Charles Town Horsemen find homes for horses retiring from racing careers.
They work with a select group of restarting and rehoming organizations to provide safe placement for equine athletes.
Second Call
Second Call is the Thoroughbred retirement program based out of Monmouth Park in New Jersey. Second Call is a great organization that strives to evaluate every horse that enters their program before sending it to us here at After the Races for rehabilitation, retraining,and rehoming. After the Races has been working with Second Call since 2014 and we cannot say enough great things about them!
Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance
After the Races has been accredited through the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance since 2016 and relies on their continued support to complete our mission.
The Right Horse
After the Races is an adoption partner with ASPCA's The Right Horse Initiative.
