Description
Benny was adopted in December of 2023 by Gillian in Maryland, who thinks he's going to be an amazing hunter. She adopted him along with Successful Legacy, so he got to go to his new home with a friend. Gillian hopes that one day he might step up to be ridden by her students as well. We know he's going to be great.

Bahamian Benny is a solid, bay, 4 year old gelding who came to us by way of Second Call in New Jersey. He is Florida-bred, by Bahamian Squall and out of a First Dude mare. He raced just one time, on 7/24/2020.
Bahamian Benny was in training in 2021 and 2022, with his last workout on 5/23/2022. We're unsure why he did not race in that time, but he retired with white line disease that was treated on a farm prior to coming to After the Races. While his feet still need a little work, he's definitely headed in the right direction.
Benny has made a great first impression on us here. He's been very easy to handle and sweet, and arrived in great body condition. It took him a bit for his feet to toughen up, having transitioned from sandy NJ-footing to our hard, Maryland dirt, but they're doing well now. He's currently sound and ready to go back to work, but might need hind shoes if your footing isn't the best.
Benny has no expected limitations and should be very amateur friendly. He's a very sweet, very good boy. He gets along well with other horses in turnout and is pretty low in the hierarchy. Just an easy going dude from start to finish.
