Description
Boomer left for his new home in North Carolina March, 2024. Ericka is so excited to meet him and looks forward to doing casual, low level showing with Boomer.
Original Post:
Blue Collar Boom is a gorgeous, plump, 5 year old colt that arrived via Beyond the Wire in Maryland. He only raced 3 times and retired after injuring a tendon in a workout in October. He is by Overanalyze and out of a Not For Love mare. His breeding comes with Dixieland Band and Silver Charm just a few generations back!
"Boomer" was finally gelded on March 15th, 2024 and his recovery so far has been text book! He will be available after two weeks has passed and we know it's healing without incident.
Even intact, Boomer has been a very good stallion and is quickly turning into a very good gelding. He's still a BIG, heavy horse which handlers should respect, but he's been quiet and easy to work with these last couple months as a stallion and so we expect temperament will only get better from here.
Over this time his tendon has been doing very well, healing very well and our vet isn't concerned about it in the long run for him at all. He is getting turned out with two geldings starting on March 20th, and if all goes well, he should be ready for a new home by March 29th.
Boomer is currently barefoot and has no vices other than (previously) being mouthy when intact. We will confirm with the vet but we believe she wanted him to have a few months of turnout before gradually returning to work. This is a NICE horse though and definitely worth giving him that time at home if you don't want to miss your chance on him!
