Description
Buddy Revell is a handsome, 4 year old bay, 16.1 hand, gelding who arrived by way of Beyond the Wire in Maryland. This guy is a grandson of both War Front and Pleasant Tap, with some Irish breeding on his sire’s side as well. He raced only 5 times, never hitting the board, and is retiring simply due to being slow and not very competitive as a racehorse.
Buddy was lucky enough to catch our vet within 24 hours of arrival. She found him to be very clean and sound and said he’d do great in any discipline! Despite having had a timed workout less than 10 days from arrival, he has been very easy to handle from the start. He’s super quiet on the ground, a very relaxed guy in the barn and in turnout, and would easily fit in to any barn.
Buddy will crib occasionally in his stall, primarily around feeding. We sometimes put a strap on him and it does stop the behavior. Often it’s so minimal we don’t bother with a strap and we have not witnessed him crib outdoors. Other than that, he’s a very easy, straightforward guy and incredibly kind. We have begun riding him and have done walk, trot, and some canter with him and introduced him to ground poles. He’s green but very willing with a happy-go-lucky attitude that will be amateur friendly as well as a joy for most professionals.
Buddy is available to the right home for $2,500 but this will increase as we continue riding him.
