Description
Celtic King was adopted on Christmas Eve in 2015 and went to live with Karen down near William & Mary University where Karen helps with the equestrian team. CK was adopted to be Karen’s personal mount and she is very excited about him. We were able to deliver him personally and can attest to the gorgeous facility and good care he’ll be in!

Original post:
Celtic King is a lovely 5 year old, 16 hand, bay gelding who retired with clean legs in June of 2015. He came to ATR in August of 2015 for evaluation and eventual rehoming. We were made aware of a small chip in his fetlock and upon our vet’s evaluation decided to increase his chances at a rewarding second career by having it removed.
Surgery was performed on September 30, and we are pleased to say it went very well. CK breezed through his rehabilitation and is now ready to go back to work without limitation. He has been nothing but sound since they day he came to us and with the chip out of the way he should do very well in any competitive career. He has the movement and ability to do quite well.
CK is a nicely put together horse with bloodlines not typically seen in our area. He is by a Danehill stallion and out of a mare with lines going back to Halo and Mr. Prospector. He has no vices, is pretty sweet, and gets along very well with other horses.
Due to weather and timing issues, CK has only had one ride but we are happy to say in that evaluation ride he proved to have a good brain, no tension in his back, no naughty behaviors, and a good willingness to work and move forward at both the walk and trot when asked. He also seemed to have a basic understanding of steering and we think will make a quick study!
