Description
Hemsworth was adopted by a wonderful foxhunting couple in Virginia who took him home in early August, 2016. They hope to spend a couple years on trails with him before he takes on becoming their new mount for the hunt.

Original post:
“Hemsworth” is a very handsome 4 year old, 16.1+ hand gelding that arrived in the last week of April 2016 from Penn Start’s New Start for Horses program. Hemsworth ran 11 times and retired with a non-displaced fracture that was repaired with some hardware at New Bolton Center. He had a great surgeon, surgery was a success, and is really expected not to have any limitations in his future career.
After our vet gave him the final go-ahead, Hemsworth has been in light work at our farm. He’s ready for full work, our schedule just does not always permit it. He is currently working mostly at the trot with some canter, and is learning to balance and understand steering off the legs and seat and into his outside rein. Hemsworth is a good mover, though a bit on the lazy side, and will do very well with an experienced rider who puts him in a program.
We’d love to see him go into an eventing home or other active home, though he’d likely make a good pleasure horse as well. He’s gone for walks around our pasture near the road and has been very sensible and not spooky.
