Virginia adopted Glorious Mahomes and one other horse in August, 2024. They are headed off to be family horses, with lots of trail riding in their future.

Glorious Mahomes is a super handsome, 6 year old, 16.1 hand, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Aftercare Charles Town. Mahomes is by Heaven's Glory (JPN) and out of a Grand Slam mare. This means he's also a grandson of Tapit and great-grandson of Danehill and Gone West.

Mahomes raced 10 times. He had a great evaluation with our vet, is sound, and should have no limitations on his future! He did retire with an old chip in his right front ankle, but both the surgeon and our veterinarian did not believe it needed to be removed or would limit him.

Mahomes is currently getting turned out with a large group of geldings with no issues. He has no vices and is very sweet to work around. He should make someone a really nice horse.

Mahomes has had several rides with both ATR staff and volunteers. He's very much a kick-ride (by OTTB standards!) and easy going. While not ready for a beginner, he should be very amateur friendly. He has the temperament to grow into being a lesson horse, trail horse, or treasured family horse, though he has no limitations and could certainly appeal to those adult amateurs out there looking for a fun horse to enjoy and bring along for some type of showing.
