"Justin" was adopted by Leigh in Alabama in July of 2024. Leigh is excited to give him some time off to be a horse and then bring him along as her next partner in hopefully eventing!

Just Go With It is a 7 year old, bay gelding that came to us in partnership with Beyond the Wire in Maryland. This guy raced 32 times with his last timed workout at the end of December. He is by Nicanor and out of a Great Notion mare. This means he's also a grandson of Dynaformer and great grandson of Carson City, a couple of our favorites here at ATR.

While his performance wasn't winning him any races, Justin had been with his same trainer since he was a 2 year old and the trainer had a hard time letting go of him.

His history is interesting because he was listed as a ridgeling at the 2 year old sale and is still listed as a "Horse" (stallion) on Equibase. He was with the same trainer from the time of the 2 year old purchase until his retirement and everyone just assumed he was a ridgeling, though a very well behaved one as he acted like a gelding!

Fast forward and he was sent to Dr. Hogan for a surgical castration and... there were no testicles to be found! There was scar tissue indicative of a previous castration, though no one knows the story. At any rate, he made his way to ATR and was confirmed a gelding by a hormone test. A mystery that may never be solved!

Justin was recently evaluated by our vet and found to be sound and has no expected limitations! He has been restarted undersaddle and is green but very light in the bridle and good natural carriage. He will be a really fun project to go in any direction!
