Description
Kazu was adopted in June of 2022 by Sarah who lives just a few minutes from ATR. She was thrilled to bring him home to bring along as her next trail and pleasure horse along with her niece. We’ve reports that he’s been settling in very well and know he’s going to do great in her care.
Kazu is a 3 year old, chestnut gelding who arrived by way of Beyond the Wire in Maryland. He raced just 9 times, never breaking his maiden. Combined with his slow record, he was also a bit sore after his last race so they decided to retire him. Radiographs are quite good so we expect with a little R&R at the farm, he’ll do just fine.
Kazu is by Daredevil and out of a Mineshaft mare. His last race was May 19th and he was reportedly a very good boy for his evaluation at the track. Our vet confirmed he was a bit sore in his one splint and fetlock on arrival but she also thought he’d do well after a little quiet time to recoup. For now he’ll get some limited turnout in our round pen and we’ll update again once he’s graduated to more exercise.
