Open the Books was adopted in September of 2024 by Lauren in Maine. Lauren is excited to bring him along as her next partner, with the goal of eventing together one day. She doesn't mind taking her time before then with trail riding and working on dressage and off-property trips. He's going to do great!

Open the Books is a 6 year old, 16.2 hand, bay gelding who came to us in partnership with Beyond the Wire in Maryland. He is a beautiful, sweet gelding by Uncle Lino and out of a Swear by Dixie mare. This means he has some great names like Indian Charlie, Dixieland Band and Fappiano in his pedigree.

Open the Books raced 8 times with his last race in May of this year. He retired with a very straightforward cracked shin, a very common injury at the track and one with an excellent prognosis! He has finished his rehab and is currently turned out with a group of geldings.

Open the Books has a terrific prognosis for any career and is ready to come back to work! He is available now to someone who is willing to restart him themselves.
