Description
Pete was adopted in January of 2023 by Christina and her family in Massachusetts. They were looking for a nice, fun horse to bring along both as their next partner and also as a potential candidate for the 2023 Thoroughbred Makeover with a junior rider. We know he's going to be awesome!

Pete The Beast is a 5 year old, tall, bay gelding that arrived by way of Aftercare Charles Town. He is by The Big Beast (by Yes It's True), and out of an Our Emblem mare. He raced just 8 times, but hasn't been competitive this year as he dealt with a quarter crack in his right front hoof.
Pete walked off the trailer and had his hind shoes pulled by our farrier, literally before he even went to a stall, and he couldn't have been more of a gentleman. He definitely made a good impression off the bat, and continues to impress. He has no vices, is incredibly kind and sensible to handle, and has been getting along with the other gelding he's turned out with.
Our vet and her technicians all adored Pete and gave him a clean bill of health. He was a little sore on the hoof with the quarter crack for his evaluation, but the vet believes it's because the bar shoe he was in trapped debris under his hoof which put extra pressure on it. He's feeling much better in a new bar shoe without the sole being covered.
As far as his quarter crack, it's healed out nicely. He is in a bar shoe at the moment to continue to support the hoof as it heals, but will not need specialized shoes long-term. He will likely receive a normal shoe on his next appointment with the farrier.
He has no known future limitations and we think will be an amazing partner for an amateur or professional alike. He's also pretty stinkin' handsome.
